Cremation is the alternative to earth burial. There are several options for those who choose cremation. |

Cremation following a Traditional Service This has become popular for those who want a traditional service with a viewing, yet wish to be cremated afterward.
Cremation caskets are usually made of hardwood. They have very little metal, if any, and have no handles or other hardware, therefore, they are less expensive as traditional hardwood caskets.
Cremation caskets come in a several different finishes, and have velvet or crepe interiors.

Direct cremation This is for those who choose not to have a viewing or a funeral service however would like a memorial service instead. A Memorial service does not have the body present, however the cremated remains or cremains might be, if that is the family’s wish. |

Since there are no laws in the state of Georgia regarding the disposition of cremated remains, a family can do whatever they wish with them. Some choose to scatter at sea or on a mountain top, or some other favorite place.
Others, who wish a “place to go and Remember” choose to bury the cremains or “plant a tree.”
