Pope Dickson & Son

About Us

Pope Dickson Funeral Home was established on

December 7, 1946 by Mr. Pope  Dickson and his wife Edith D. Dickson, and to this day is still one of the

oldest family owned and operated businesses in

Clayton County.

Pope Dickson

“Helping people in need” was one of the

reasons Pope Dickson started the funeral home. In 1969 Pope opened the Morrow Chapel in the neighboring city of Morrow Georgia.

Committed to service, the Dicksons’ are firm believers in “giving back” to the community in which we serve, work and live.

Pope Dickson & Son supports and sponsors over 35 different civic organizations and charities.  Just to name a few:

Aids Atlanta

American Cancer Society

Georgia Sheriff's Youth Home

Historical Jonesboro

Festival Ballet

Special Olympics

Neighborhood Watch Programs

Jonesboro Volunteer Fire Department

Project Open Hands

All Clayton County Police & Fire Departments

Jonesboro, Morrow & Riverdale Police Depts.

Even though Pope and Edith are gone,

Their son, Abb Dickson and the Staff of Pope

Dickson & Son, vow to continue the values and traditions taught to us by Pope and Edith.
